Wedding dresses...

Mark do not look at the links in this entry!

Psssst... This is the dress I really want for my wedding... I really, really love this dress...

Lea-Ann Belter 2007 Collection - find the design "Kaitlyn" (No. 4)

However, in the interests of budget and financial contraints tomorrow I am off for a day shopping to see if can find a cheaper dress that is on sale. Apparently all the bridal shops around town are having massive sales and the chances of getting a dress for under $500 are quite good.

So tomorrow morning I am trudging off through a few of the shops with my bridal party in tow - Josie, Donna, Col and Casey Jayne. Maybe we'll find something I am willing to settle on if the price is good enough.

I know deep down though that I really want the Lea-Ann Belter dress... But how can I justify spending $1500 on a dress know I'll only ever wear once.

I am not a big fan of shopping so this is going to be an interesting day. Wish me luck!

Wondering if you found something similar to the "Kaitlyn". I too fell in love with it w/o finding out the price first. My budget is also around $500 and was told by a local boutique that this dress runs around $4000.

Got a price on it from a local dressmaker here in Australia. They estimated about $2000 using the same materials - so silk and silk organza. However this price could be lowered using poly fabrics - just won't have quite the same feel and look. Silk and poly materials have different "sheens" apparently. Hope this helps!

Forgot to mention - the dress I am having made is actually a combination of the Kaitlyn design and Eloise from Elizabeth De Varga. So taking the floatiness of Kaitlyn and adding a little lace at the top. It will also be silk chiffon instead of organza. And is it going to be strapless as well.

A dressmaker was able to combine all the elements from a couple of dresses I liked so I am really happy with the intended result. If you post your email address here I will send you a copy of the design drawings if you are interested.

Best of luck with everything. Steph.

I just wanted to let you all know that I am SELLING my Kaitlyn dress. I absolutely loved it and I wore it on December 1, 2007.
I bought it at Lea Ann's store on Queen street in Toronto, Canada. She personally fitted and modified the dress for me. I am 5'6" tall and I wore 1 and a half inch heels with it. Lea Ann made the front a pure v neck rather than a v neck that overlapped a bit in the front - it doesn't change the way it fits, but it made the dress look very flattering on me since I do not have a large chest. My measurements are 33-27-36 and because of the open back, it can fit someone slightly larger as it has the adjustable straps. My dress is the blush colour. lea Ann also added a small cluster of swarovski crystals to where the straps in the front meet the dress. I have plenty of photos and I am happy to send them to you or have a friend with the same measurements as you try the dress on. Please feel free to email me at eileenlasswell@hotmail.com and we can discuss price , shipping etc.
